Sumaging Cave, Sagada Mountain Province

A visit to Sagada will never be complete without venturing to one of the best this place might offer – the Sumaguing Cave. Aptly called as the Big Cave, it is perhaps the most popular and frequently visited place here. One needs to trek down a slippery trail from its mouth to see the magnificent formations of stalactites and stalagmites that took thousands of years to shape. These formations were carefully sculpted by nature itself to form contours that were given fancy names such as king and queen’s curtains, giant fudge, pregnant woman, mickey mouse, alligator, dancing hall and rice terraces. Inside are underground streams and natural pools with water temperature near freezing point. Be ready to get wet and chill as the adventure includes crossing a waist-deep pool. THE SIGNAGE OF EXCITEMENT:
This part is the started of everything. You can warm up yourself and start gearing your body. Just be relaxed and see how wonder the Sumaging Cave is.

HOW DEEP THE CAVE IS:
Posing like this, you are just giving details the people at your back how deep the cave is. Heart palpitations are not important things to consider but having a relax mind and body help you to make it.

COFFINS IN FRONT OF YOU:
Coffins are used when somebody died in their area. This is the style of being buried. And buried inside the cave is one of the traditions of the locals and that is their beliefs.

WHILE GETTING INSIDE:
What is a cave all about?? If you are a beginner frustrations, fears and excitements are the most feelings you can be with. But, doing spelunking is just a precious memories you can never forget.

RAPELLING MOVES:
Hold so Tight Until You down. Bending your knees is not a good advise but instead straight it all throughout while moving backward until down. Trust yourself and the your knees.

HOLD EACH OTHER HANDS:
By doing this, you are saving your group mates from danger. As our tour guide said, this is one of the deepest part of the cave. Water means you are getting further and deeper. Just save everything even people around you.

CAN BE AT THE END???
The rocks are very slippery. Doing it alone of course you can never be. Trusting each one of you helps you subside the challenge.

ORANGUTAN MOUNTAINEERS:
The pioneers and the extensions. For us, Friendship is still the memories we never forget. Sharing the experience with having the same passion and share with the people around us.
