Rising at the northeastern edge of the Cordilleras is the highest point of Mountain Province, Mt. Amuyao. Unlike the famed mountains of the range such as Mt. Pulag and Mt. Napulauan which can only be viewed on high elevations, Mt. Amuyao stands prominently and can be spotted along the highway to Banaue. Because of its prime location, it was chosen to be the site of two transmitters, that of the PT&T and ABS-CBN. And because its summit area hosts these sites, the access to the mountain has been made easy, with stairways literally running all the way to the top. This literal flight of stairs takes 4-7 hours to climb*. Exhauasting and steep, yes, but the trail is assuringly well-established and continuous. Night trekking is a possibility. THE STORIES BEHIND:

MOUNTAIN TRUCK: Our Savior, we were rented a private van that time going to Mt. Amuyao. Unfortunately, according to our driver, Kuya Archie, our van couldn't pass through in your destination because of the rocky roadway. So the group then decided to walk and start the trekking. But according to the locals (peoples residing in that place) we met, the Barlig, where the Mt. Amuyao found is too far from our place and we can wait for a trucks for us to reach our destination.

ROCKY ROADWAY: SInce the roadways is very rocky, our rented van cannot truly passing through on it. If we still pursue on it, the wheels can be cracked and burned it out.

ON THE ROAD: God is always good all the time. He let us ride in a mountain truck so that we can go in our destination. Only our laughter can truly relieved our anxiety.

DON'T MOVE: Stop doing unnecessary things because we were all in danger that time. It was raining and the roadway is very slippery cracked and creepy. The trees fell down due to typhoons. . We felt the coldness of the weather and seen how danger the road was.

THE SCHOOL: This is were you can register, ask for tour guide(s) and also prepare yourselves for the trekking. During those time, we went through in night trekking. We prepared our head lamps, raincoats, jackets, gloves, umbrellas and others.

BARLIG: It was lunch time when we arrived in the area of Barlig. We rode in this truck and brought us in our destination safely. The fare costs Php 100.00/head.

A BRIDGE: While getting along the flat-field of rices, we underwent in a cemented bridge. The bridge itself has a flowing river and built-in houses on side.

THE FLAT RICE FIELD: When you are getting higher, you will see the wonderful rice field of Barlig Mountain Province.

GO ALONG: Here are the flat rice field wherein you can see farmers planting the seed of rices. This is the only way going to the Mt. Amuyao.

STOP: A little bit pose with some of Orangutan Mountaineers. (LEFT) the group taking a pose for awhile while going upstairs. (BELOW) taking pose while some of the groups were still viewing the flat rice field.

SLIDING VIEW: In the background you will see the flat rice field, the slope of the mountains and the green views of grasses and plants.

STAIRS: Cemented stairs for going-up and going down were truly made our legs so tired. While doing our trek, the group encountered those cemented stairs which truly gave us easily body fatigue.

VIEWPOINT: Just the enjoy the beauty of nature while you are getting fatigue and tired. This photo was taken before reaching the first resting point. The true essence of nature gave us the amazing viewpoint of God's creation.

RESTING POINT: This is the first area where the group rested for a minutes. Taking pictures, group interactions, taking pictures, resting, eating some trail foods, drinking water and wiping sweats are could be done here.

CLEAR SURROUNDINGS: It was late afternoon when this photo was taken. The green color of surroundings highlighted its beauty and scenery; and the pine trees shaded us from direct sunlight.

FACING THE TYPHOON: for whatever reasons, doing trekking goes with the climate change too. Whatever the reasons are, you must be prepared enough while starting trekking.

THE NIGHT BEHIND THE MOON: Using with your head lamps, you can go along the trail but safety is the most concern at this point.

REACHING OUT THE SUMMIT: Posing at the summit is not yet stable unless who are wearing anti-coldness gears. So much better to wear those gears.

THE ABS-CBN IDENTITY: Built up at the summit

WHILE INSIDE AND BE IN SUMMIT: There is a wooden house built-up by ABS-CBN for the care taker or the locals who are caring the site. Having a strong wind made us in a difficult rate in fixing our tent but we are still fortunate because of this wooden house which we made as our big tent to stay for the whole night before going down.
